There's a few famous Abigail Adams quotes. One is:
"Do not put such unlimited power into the hands of husbands. Remember all men would be tyrants if they could."
Hmm. Not all men would be tyrants if they could, but enough men would that it is good not to put unlimited power into the hands of husbands. It's funny she said it, but it's not funny that there's some truth in it.
A philosophical quote is:
"I begin to think, that a calm is not desirable in any situation in life. Man was made for action and for bustle too, I believe."
Then, another funny one:
"I've always felt that a person's intelligence is directly reflected by the number of conflicting points of view he can entertain simultaneously on the same topic."
I got those from http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/authors/a/abigail_adams.html. There are several such pages on the internet. We'll add some of our own quote pages eventually, and we already have one for Benjamin Franklin and George Washington.
